Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Racing Ducati) was declared the winner of an eight lap second Superbike race after the rains fell so hard that three riders fell on the same part of the track, and the red flag was shown. Half points were awarded to the top 15 riders. Loris Baz (Kawasaki Racing Team) had been in the lead on the lap that the flag was shown but he had fallen shortly before, so on the count back he was credited with second.

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton finished in the best way a very successful weekend, having failed to win the race in Hungary. Britain launched the first and although he does not lose this position at any time for more than a few laps, then his victory was far from easy. Almost throughout the second half of the race Kimi Raikkonen team Lotus plagued Britain for less than a second behind him, but never came to overtaking.

Stefan Bradl powered his Honda RC213V to 7th place in today’s 32-lap race at Laguna Seca, showing his strong attitude to quickly adapt to his machine on an unknown circuit.
This was Bradl’s first trip to Laguna Seca on a MotoGP machine, and the 22-year-old finished with the ninth fastest time in yesterday’s qualifying session at the track in the hills east of Monterrey. Despite the lack of experience needed to get the most out of his LCR RCV, Bradl was capable to fight for 6th place until six laps to go when local hero Hayden passed him.

The team was prepared perfectly, but unfortunately other factors discouraging their participation.
Hopefully next time to have more success.
